Head of Human Resources
2 Days Old
Job Description
Head of HR (or Senior HR Business Partner ready to step up)
Gloucestershire | 3 days on site + travel
This is not a steady-state HR role.
This is a business that’s been through significant change — and isn’t finished yet. It’s lean, ambitious and growing, but now needs more cohesion, clearer leadership and a more consistent way of operating.
Working directly with the Managing Director, you’ll help bring that together.
You’ll act as the bridge between strategy and reality, translating direction into something people can actually understand, adopt and deliver.
You’ll be supporting multiple UK sites, while operating within a wider global matrix. That means balancing both, aligning to group direction, but still owning and delivering what the business needs locally.
The leadership team is new and still finding its rhythm. There’s energy and intent, but not yet a clear benchmark for what strong leadership looks like. You’ll help define that; setting expectations, building capability and bringing consistency across the business.
This role isn’t about theory. It’s about practical delivery.
You’ll need to simplify, prioritise and bring structure to an environment that can feel fast-paced and, at times, overwhelming.
This role would suit:
- A Senior HR Business Partner ready to step into a Head of HR role
- Or a Head of HR who enjoys building foundations and shaping culture
You’ll bring:
- Experience leading through change in complex or previously siloed environments
- Credibility to partner at MD level
- The ability to create alignment and cohesion across teams and sites
- Experience operating in a global matrix — comfortable balancing central direction with strong local ownership
- The ability to influence without authority across functions and geographies
- A practical, grounded approach — able to turn ideas into clear, simple execution
- Experience managing others and building capability
- Emotional maturity, resilience and calm credibility
- A clear, open and transparent communication style
This isn’t about building perfect frameworks. It’s about raising the bar, clearer standards, stronger leadership habits and a culture that actually works day to day.
You’ll be hands-on, visible and comfortable rolling your sleeves up, while still thinking strategically.
There is genuine opportunity here. As the business grows, so will the scope of the role.
If you’re steady under pressure, comfortable with ambiguity, and motivated by bringing clarity to complexity, this is a role where you can make a real impact.
This role is offered on a permanent basis.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion are integral to everything that we do. We are committed to these values, and they are central to our mission. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities, and we are more than happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments that you may require
