The Global Materials Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, optimising working capital, and enabling efficient production at our Global Production Centre (GPC) and beyond. This is a rare opportunity to combine strategic leadership with hands‑on operational delivery in a fast‑growing, international business.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a global materials management function in a business scaling at pace, with direct impact on international growth, supply resilience, and innovation.
Location: This role is based at our site in Burton, Monday – Friday.
The Role
Lead materials management across the GPC, ensuring efficient inbound, outbound, and kitting to production lines.
Oversee planning operations to deliver customer requirements, forecasts, and OTIF performance.
Manage stock levels, ageing inventory, and adherence to Health & Safety, Quality, and BRC standards.
Own and optimise the Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system, driving continuous improvement.
Oversee materials flow to third‑party facilities, balancing resilience, service, and working capital.
Deliver regular KPI, cost, and efficiency reporting to senior stakeholders.
Provide leadership and training to warehouse and planning teams, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
The Person
Experience leading teams in a manufacturing, production, or supply chain environment.
Hands‑on experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle), improving planning accuracy and stock availability.
Strong working knowledge of materials planning (MRP), warehouse operations, and manufacturing processes.
Experience managing budgets and delivering against KPIs (e.g. OTIF, service levels, inventory), with a track record of cost and efficiency improvements.
Experience influencing senior stakeholders and working cross‑functionally (e.g. procurement, logistics, finance).
Knowledge of GMP, BRC, ISO, and Health & Safety standards in an operational setting.
Strong analytical skills; able to use data to drive decisions and balance cost with service levels.
Able to operate in a fast‑paced, complex environment and manage changing priorities.
