Applications closed: 24 March 2026 09:00 AM. About the role We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and well‑qualified Head of Geography to lead our highly successful, vibrant department. The successful candidate will model and promote outstanding teaching and learning, support and empower the team, and provide strategic leadership of Geography both in the classroom and beyond. Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Geography department, ensuring high standards of teaching and curriculum delivery. Model and promote outstanding teaching and learning practices. Support and empower teaching staff, fostering professional growth. Set and achieve learning outcomes for students, encouraging enquiry, critical thinking, and data interpretation. Plan and oversee co‑curricular opportunities, including clubs, competitions, and extension activities. Organise and manage curriculum residentials for Year 10 and Year 12 to Dorset and Snowdonia. Coordinate optional overseas expeditions to destinations such as Iceland, Morocco, Sicily and the Azores. Collaborate with other GDST Heads of Geography to share best practice and support collective improvement.
