Hibiscus is the only UK label printer performing its own BS5609 Section 3 tests, ensuring fully compliant labels capable of withstanding extreme conditions. The company also develops bespoke and ready-made solutions, including software for chemical classification, safety data sheet management, and labeling compliance.The Head of Finance will take full ownership of the company’s finance function, running the accounts department day to day while directly managing staff and providing clear, timely financial insight to support business decisions.This is a hands-on role within a well-established SME environment, combining financial control with commercial insight. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, producing robust monthly management accounts, and ensuring all VAT, PAYE, and statutory filings are completed correctly and on time.Alongside core financial responsibilities, a key focus of the role will be to improve visibility of financial performance across the business, particularly around product and customer profitability, supporting more informed and commercially driven decision making.You will work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team as a trusted and influential partner, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities, while helping to strengthen financial processes, reporting, and controls over time.Key ResponsibilitiesRun the accounts department and oversee all accounting activitiesMaintain and control sales, purchase, and nominal ledgersPrepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflowManage VAT returns, PAYE, and statutory compliancePreparation of payroll and liaise with external advisors where requiredPrepare budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projectionsAnalyse financial performance and provide actionable insightsPrepare year-end accounts and auditsImprove financial controls, processes, and reporting systemsMonitor stock, work-in-progress (WIP), and margin performanceQualifications & ExperienceStrong experience in management accounting and financial controlProven ability to run an accounts function independentlySolid understanding of UK VAT, PAYE, and compliance requirementsExperience within amanufacturing SME environmentwould be highly beneficialExperience overseeing exports within a manufacturing SME.Understanding of stock control, costing, and margin analysis in a production setting is desirableWorking knowledge ofSAP Business One (SAP B1)would be beneficial but training will be provided.High level of analytical ability with strong attention to detailProficiency with accounting and financial management softwareSuitably qualified.Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline preferred.Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Accounts Manager, or senior finance roleParticipation in Quality and Environmental Standards including auditing processes.We will be contacting short listed candidates for first interview w/c 13th April.Salary £50,000 to £60,000 subject to experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
