Head of Finance – Independent Restaurant Group – Central London

We are currently recruiting for a commercially minded and hands-on Head of Finance to join the leadership team of a highly respected independent restaurant group. Reporting directly to the Founder and Executive Director, this is the most senior finance role within the business.
This role is specifically suited to someone with experience in a similar-sized restaurant or hospitality operator, who understands the pace, challenges and nuances of a founder-led, multi-site business.
As Head of Finance, you will take full ownership of the finance function, leading the accounting department while working closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.

The business operates with a close-knit team of approximately 85 employees and a turnover of circa £6.6 million. As a proudly independent and founder-led group, they offer a collaborative and hands-on environment where individuals are expected to contribute beyond their core function.

The Person
The successful Head of Finance will have the following:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
Proven experience in a Head of Finance / Finance Manager role within a restaurant group or similar-sized multi-site hospitality operator
A strong understanding of working within owner-led, entrepreneurial businesses rather than large corporate structures
Solid commercial experience including labour modelling, GP optimisation and site-level P&L management
Experience supporting business growth, openings or operational change within a hospitality setting
Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage 50 (Xero experience beneficial)
Confidence presenting financial information to senior stakeholders and non-finance teams
A hands-on, detail-focused approach with the ability to work closely with operations
A collaborative and adaptable working style suited to a smaller, fast-paced business
