Job Description
Glasgow City Council is seeking an exceptional and talented individual to take on the role of Head of Finance and Transformation. Reporting directly to the Divisional Director of Finance and Transformation, the successful candidate will have a relevant business degree and/or extensive business experience coupled with a proven track record of management accounting and delivering complex change projects/programmes within financial targets in a complex, large‑scale operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead transformation initiatives across Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS).
- Promote service improvement under an effective governance framework, fostering stakeholder collaboration.
- Drive delivery and development of services such as refuse collection, parks, roads, transport, parking, planning and property services.
- Provide leadership on business change capability development, ensuring alignment, integration and prioritisation of project implementations.
- Lead the management accounting function, assisting operational managers in planning, controlling and decision‑making.
- Integrate with the Corporate Finance team supporting NRS.
Qualifications
- Relevant business degree and/or extensive business experience.
- Proven track record of management accounting.
- Experience delivering complex change projects/programmes within financial targets in a complex, large‑scale operational environment.
