Shape the future of financial strategy and performance in Barnsley, As Head of Finance and Performance, you will provide strategic leadership across Finance, Procurement, and Performance and Improvement. You will shape long term financial sustainability, ensure robust governance and regulatory compliance, and spearhead the delivery of high quality financial and performance information to support effective organisational decision-making. This is a high-impact, strategically influential role where you will:ResponsibilitiesLead strategically: Provide expert direction for Finance, Procurement and Performance and Improvement, ensuring alignment with Berneslai Homes' Strategic Plan.Drive performance and assurance: Deliver timely, accurate and insightful financial and performance information to the Board, Committees and Senior Leadership to enable strong governance and informed decision making.Ensure financial sustainability: Lead budget setting for Berneslai Homes and oversight of the Housing Revenue Account (HRA), monitor performance, and drive value for money.Strengthen procurement excellence: Oversee statutory compliance and ensure procurement delivers value, efficiency and risk managed outcomes.Lead major change programmes: Driving organisational improvement, embedding data driven strategies, and managing strategic and operational risk.Influence partnerships: Work closely with Barnsley Council, external audit, Corporate Assurance and other strategic partners to strengthen governance and service delivery.QualificationsWe need an inspirational and resilient leader who:Is a CCAB qualified accountant with a strong record of continuing professional development.Has significant experience in complex public sector or not-for-profit financial leadership.Brings proven expertise in financial strategy, performance management and procurement.Demonstrates exceptional strategic thinking, analytical capability, and the ability to lead transformational change.Has excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to engage confidently at Board level.BenefitsShape financial strategies and performance frameworks that directly improve services for tenants.Work with passionate, values driven colleagues in a forward-thinking organisation.Enjoy a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional development.About Berneslai HomesAt Berneslai Homes we're responsible for managing around 18,000 homes on behalf of Barnsley Council.
