Head of Engineering – Europe

I am seeking a senior, commercially minded Head of Engineering to provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of lifestyle hotels in Europe. This is a high-impact executive role with responsibility for engineering performance, compliance, investment planning, and team leadership across a complex, multi-site estate.


The Role

  • Set and deliver the engineering strategy across existing properties and new developments, aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Provide executive oversight of all engineering projects, including refurbishments, upgrades, and new installations, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for MEP systems, fire safety, and critical building services.
  • Lead preventative maintenance and asset lifecycle planning to optimise performance, safety, and guest experience.
  • Own engineering capex planning, budgeting, and long-term investment strategies across the portfolio.
  • Drive sustainability, energy efficiency, and ESG initiatives to reduce environmental impact and operating costs.
  • Ensure full compliance with all local, national, and European statutory and safety regulations.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire multi-disciplinary engineering teams and external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with construction, operations, and property leadership to support business performance and brand standards.


About You

  • Proven senior leadership experience in hotels or hospitality, with responsibility for multi-site portfolios.
  • Strong technical background across MEP, building services, and life safety systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale capex programmes and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Commercially astute, with experience managing budgets and driving operational efficiencies.
  • Comfortable operating at executive level in a fast-paced, design-led hospitality environment.

Salary

Up to £100,000 per annum + bonus and excellent benefits
