Head of Engineering - £80 – 90k – Cheshire – Hybrid – 2 Days in office

Our client, a leading SaaS business, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Engineering to lead their talented development team. This role is crucial as the business continues innovating and expanding its marketing technology offerings. The Head of Engineering will manage a team of 5 developers, ensuring technical excellence and driving strategic initiatives, while remaining partly hands-on with the technology stack, which includes PHP, Laravel, React, MySQL, and AWS.

Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5 developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions aligned with business goals. Maintain a hands-on role in coding, particularly in PHP, React, MySQL, and AWS. Implement engineering best practices, processes, and standards to ensure the scalability and reliability of the platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and Sales, to align engineering efforts with business objectives. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and within-budget delivery. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members. Ensure the security, stability, and performance of the platform, implementing necessary measures to protect data integrity and availability.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a senior engineering role, with a track record of leading and managing development teams. Strong proficiency in PHP, React, MySQL, and AWS. Ability to balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership responsibilities.
