Job Description
We are working with a top entertainment agency that is looking to hire a Head of Data IO for a January start. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading creative environment and oversee critical media operations across production and post. The ideal candidate will have done this in a similar agency environment - keen to grow and develop in another.
Overview
The Head of Data IO will lead all Data IO operations, ensuring secure, accurate, and efficient media handling throughout the production pipeline. This role manages the Data IO team, maintains high-quality workflows, and supports technical and finishing processes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage the Data IO team, ensuring strong performance and consistent standards.
Oversee secure ingest, transfers, backups, encodes, and asset deliveries.
Maintain and improve Data IO workflows with Operations and Online/Finishing teams.
Manage production storage, archiving, retention policies, and media organisation.
Provide first-line technical support for Avid systems, shared storage, and related equipment.
Ensure all finishing and delivery workflows are correctly followed and meet technical specs.
Monitor system and equipment health, escalating issues and recommending improvements.
Skills & Experience
Significant experience in Data IO, media management, or post-production operations.
Strong leadership and team development abilities.
Deep understanding of media formats, delivery specs, archiving, and post workflows.
Technical proficiency with Avid, shared storage, and encoding tools.
Highly organised, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
