Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Head of Data to join a global asset manager headquartered in London and lead the next phase of their data transformation journey. This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership role, suited to someone who excels at the intersection of data operations, governance, architecture, and emerging AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with senior business stakeholders to ensure the data strategy fully supports and enables business objectives. Work alongside the Head of Development to shape data architecture, modernise data tooling, and drive best-practice design. Define, implement, and continually mature robust data governance and data quality frameworks. Lead a high-performing data operations function spanning governance, MDM, and BI. Collaborate with the client reporting team to develop and refine the firm’s enterprise reporting strategy. Oversee the data modelling function, ensuring consistent standards and scalable design. Define and execute an organisation-wide AI enablement strategy, aligned tightly to business priorities. Champion responsible and effective AI adoption across the firm and oversee delivery of AI use cases.

Experience & Skills Required

Strong experience within financial services, ideally in the buy-side sector. Proven track record in defining and delivering enterprise data architecture strategies and roadmaps. Deep knowledge of data system architecture and modern data platform patterns (data marts, data fabric, data lakes, etc.). Cloud data management expertise - Azure experience . Strong understanding of BI and data warehouse modelling principles and techniques. Solid grasp of AI concepts, tools, and emerging technologies. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Demonstrated experience leading and developing data teams.
