About the Role

The Head of Category will lead a team that owns all products featured across the region in the Wall portfolio (Portfolio) to ensure visibility, discipline and productivity is harmonised to deliver a market leading “regional” product proposition.

As Head of Category – Wall you will be helping us grow our Wall products through defining and executing a long-term product portfolio strategy focussing on product lifecycle management, new product development and portfolio related projects.

This is a role which will give you exposure to stakeholders/team across our business, as you provide clarity and vision in the development and implementation of the integrated product strategy for your product range. This includes understanding the trading performance and recommending corrective actions essential to the delivery of the annual financial performance requirements.

You will define, own and deliver new products and services based on a rolling innovation roadmap aligned to our strategy for growth, will also offer new products, capabilities, and technology to help the industry address key issues such as decarbonisation while contributing to the long-term goals of the business.

Hours of Work: 9am to 5pm. Monday to Friday

This is a regional role which requires regular travel across the UK and some international travel for internal meetings, manufacturing site visits, customer meetings, trade shows and events.

A company car/allowance is proivided.

You will visit the head office in Cheadle regularly so you will be based in a suitable location to commute easily to Cheadle for meetings with key stakeholders.

About You

You will be an experienced product management professional who has excellent knowledge of product marketing, category management, product lifecycle management and new product development. You're also leader who enjoys working in a matrix setting, delivering results through your team.

You will also have:

• Commercial acumen: strong business-focussed mindset and ability to create viable business proposition while managing complexity, and constrained resources
• Voice of customer and innovation: identifying market opportunities, driving product innovation, and capitalizing on emerging trends.
• Compliance: Foundational understanding of regulatory framework and compliance mechanisms within the construction industry
• Outstanding strategic capability: Ability to balance short-term (product) goals with long-term strategic objectives to maintain a competitive edge
• Product expertise: passion for product, solid knowledge and keenness to learn the construction industry, building materials, and technologies
• Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills and ability to understand and influence all parts of the business
• Line management – you could be an experience manager, or you could have strong leadership potential and keen to step up into your first managerial role.
• Full driving license and flexibility for regular travel across the UK (and some international travel)
