Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced, organised, and compassionate Dual-Site Head Dental Nurse to lead and support our nursing teams across ODL and LOC. This role is ideal for a senior nurse ready to step into a rewarding multi-site senior role, with scope to drive high clinical standards, empower a growing team, and support digital and Invisalign®-led workflows.


Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage the dental nursing teams across both sites, ensuring high clinical standards and a supportive, inclusive culture.
  • Oversee nurse rota planning, shift cover, and effective team deployment for cosmetic, general, and orthodontic sessions.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the professional development of trainee and qualified nurses.
  • Lead by example in delivering outstanding chairside assistance and infection control practices.


Clinical & Operational Excellence

  • Support dentists and specialists during procedures across both practices, including Invisalign®, restorative, implant, and hygiene treatments.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC, HTM 01-05, and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits, sterilisation checks, and infection control reviews.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure smooth clinic operations.


Training & Development

  • Onboard and induct new nurses, ensuring consistent training across both sites.
  • Maintain and update CPD records, training logs, and GDC registration for the team.
  • Organise internal training sessions, shadowing, and external CPD opportunities.


Patient Experience

  • Support clinicians in creating a calm, professional, and friendly environment for patients.
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding procedures, comfort measures, and aftercare.
  • Act as a point of contact for clinical queries, ensuring timely and empathetic responses.


Administration & Communication

  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist with clinical governance tasks, equipment maintenance logs, and policy updates.
  • Support with dental software usage, patient notes, and cross-site IT systems when needed.


Requirements

  • GDC-registered Dental Nurse with 3+ years’ experience (Head Nurse or Senior Nurse experience preferred).
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage rotas and team dynamics.
  • Excellent understanding of cross-infection control, dental compliance, and CQC standards.
  • Experience in cosmetic or orthodontic practices (Invisalign® knowledge is a plus).
  • Confident communicator with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Flexible to work across both ODL (cosmetic) and LOC (orthodontic) sites as required.
