Our client, based in Stevenage, are a rapidly growing UK-based health tech start-up that's building wearable technology with the power to support people living with neurological conditions.
They are looking for a Hardware Engineer to join the team. This is a key role in a small team: they do not currently have a dedicated hardware engineering department, so the successful candidate must be a self-starter who can work with ambiguity, set direction, and communicate effectively across internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Own PCB redesigns and iterative improvements (cost, reliability, manufacturability, power efficiency, component availability). Diagnose and resolve field and production issues (root cause analysis; corrective actions; ECOs). Improve battery life, vibration drive efficiency, robustness, and overall system reliability. Manage obsolescence and supply-chain risks (alternates, second sources, lifecycle planning) Define hardware architecture for next-gen (MCU/SoC selection, power architecture, sensors, comms).
