We are seeking to appoint a Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine to work in our Leicestershire and Rutland Sexual Health service.Based at our Loughborough Health Centre, with service locations across Rutland, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, and Coalville, this a part role, offers a unique opportunity to provide free, confidential sexual health services to the local community.For this role you will provide expert clinical leadership and high-quality care in Genitourinary Medicine (GUM), managing complex sexually transmitted infections within a multidisciplinary team. The role supports service development, clinical governance, and participation in education, research, and audit. Clinics include both booked and walk-in appointments, with no direct inpatient responsibility but support for secondary care pathways. You will also contribute to staff training and the management of patients requiring PrEP, PEPSE, and complex sexual health care including HIV pathways.This role is a part time (4 PAs) Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine with responsibility for the Genitourinary provision in Leicestershire and Rutland based in Loughborough Sexual Health Hub.The role is to support the delivery of Level 3 STI care and provision and clinical leadership within the service. The line manager for this role is the Service Manager. There is no current call provision within the service.Main duties of the jobDiagnosis and management of STIs including complex genitourinary conditionsThe post holder will be expected to work with the MDT and lead the service GUM MDT meetingOffer expert opinions and second-line support to Specialty Doctors, nurses and traineesThe appointee will participate in Clinical Governance, Clinical Audit, CME and meet the annual CPD requirementsHCRG Care Group supports the requirements for CPD and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities.The postholder will be required to follow the policies and practices laid down within HCRG Care GroupThe postholder will undertake annual appraisal and ensure they meet the requirements for CPD in line with GMC good medical practice and to meet requirements for revalidation.The postholder will been couraged to participate in the mentoring scheme run jointly by the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH), the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) and the British HIV Association (BHIVA).Provide safeguarding support for vulnerable adults and young peopleProvide clinical leadership to the wider teamContribute to the service development and redesign, and pathway developmentSupport innovation in HIV prevention (PEPSE, PrEP)Ensure that the service is compliant with national standards such as BASHH, FSRH and NICEAbout usAbout the CompanyWe change lives by transforming health and care.Established in 2006, we are one of the UKs leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency and improved outcomes.
