Financial ControllerSalary £60,000 - £65,000Contract : PermanentLocation : BromsgroveThe Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the firm’s finance operations and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Initially, the role will focus on Principal Finance functions, including CASS and Client Money oversight, company accounting and reporting, and trade and distribution settlement. The successful candidate will build strong, positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including the regulator, and will support and help implement strategic plans that align with the firm’s goals and objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesCASS and Client Money oversightCompany accounting and statutory reportingTrade and distribution settlementIntegrity of financial reporting, capital and liquidity monitoringEnsuring compliance with FCA regulations, including CASS and Client Money rulesOverseeing company accounting, statutory reporting, and internal control frameworksManaging trade and distribution settlement processesPreparing monthly and quarterly management accountsLeading budgeting, forecasting, and the annual ICARA reporting process, including wind‑down planningSupporting internal and external audits and regulatory reporting requirementsDriving continuous process improvements and maintaining robust risk management frameworksMedium-Term ResponsibilitiesOverseeing fund financial reporting and NAV calculation processesManaging and maintaining relationships with third-party service providersQualifications and SkillsProfessional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)Minimum of five years’ experience in a senior finance role with responsibility for financial reporting within a regulated firmExperience operating within SM&CR environments, including supporting SMFs, evidencing reasonable steps, and managing annual fitness and propriety cyclesStrong understanding of CASS, FCA regulations, and fund accountingExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and financial systemsAbility to work autonomously while also leading, developing, and motivating a teamInternal CompetenciesAbility to develop and maintain high-quality Management Information used across the businessStrong problem‑solving skills, with a proactive and collaborative approachProven leadership and communication skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesStrong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detailExperience coaching and mentoring team members is desirableBenefitsCompany Bonus: Eligibility for discretionary bonuses based on company profitability and individual performance (pro-rated in the first 12 months)Mobile Phone: Company-provided mobile phone and contractPension: Employer contribution of up to 7.5% of annual salary, subject to employee matchingDeath in Service: Cover of up to three times annual salaryPrivate Healthcare: Company-funded healthcare scheme (subject to exclusions)Income Protection: Up to 75% of salary following a 26-week deferral period, payable up to state pension ageHoliday: 28–30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidaysFlexible Working: Flexible working arrangements, with an expectation of three days per week in the office during the probation period #J-18808-Ljbffr
