Role Description
This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Group Finance Controller located in Birmingham. You will be responsible for ensuring the business is financially astute and managed well, running a team with a number of reporting divisions. Reporting into the Group CFO and Board.
Qualifications
Lead and develop the finance team
Own monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board reporting
Oversee statutory accounts, audits, tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting
Maintain strong financial controls, processes, and risk management
Cashflow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury oversight
Support budgeting, forecasting, and medium‑term financial planning
Partner with operational and commercial leaders on performance and growth
Assist with group structuring, intercompany accounting, and consolidation
Support systems improvement, automation, and data quality initiatives
Essential
ACA / ACCA / CIMA fully qualified
Proven experience in similar size or larger organisations
Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP; IFRS a bonus)
Experience managing and developing a finance team
Solid understanding of cashflow, controls, and audit processes
High level of Excel and financial systems competence
Highly Desirable
Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated sectors
Exposure to fast‑growth, PE‑backed, or entrepreneurial businesses
Group consolidation and intercompany accounting experience
Systems implementation or finance transformation exposure
Personal Attributes
Commercially minded — understanding of the business, not just the numbers

Detail‑oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture
Confident working with senior leadership and external advisors
