London's leading property investment firm is seeking a highly capable and commercially minded Group Accountant to take ownership of a defined portfolio of UK properties.

This is a pivotal role offering full accountability and autonomy, where you will act as the financial lead across multiple assets, partnering closely with asset management to drive performance and value.

This position offers the opportunity to truly shape and define the role, giving you the platform to put your own stamp on processes, reporting, and business partnering. You will also benefit from high-level exposure to the Chairman and senior leadership team, positioning you as a key contributor to strategic decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the financial management of a portfolio of UK properties, including complete responsibility for the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for your portfolio.
  • Partner closely with the Asset Manager responsible for the same portfolio to:
  • Review leasing activity and assess financial impact.
  • Conduct financial analysis on CAPEX investments, supporting business cases and approvals prior to final committee review.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes across your assets.
  • Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and asset performance.
  • Play an active role in corporate accounting activities, contributing to group-wide financial processes.
  • Support the year-end process, including preparation of statutory financial statements and audit coordination.
  • Continuously review capital expenditure throughout the year:
  • Assess and determine appropriate capitalisation vs. expense treatment.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise capital deployment and improve returns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the business, partnering effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Mandatory background in audit (practice-trained), followed by post-qualification experience within a finance team.
  • Prior experience in the property or real estate sector is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of P&L and balance sheet within a multi-asset or portfolio environment.
  • Experience working alongside asset management or investment teams is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of CAPEX evaluation, financial modelling, and capitalisation principles.
  • Experience with statutory reporting and year-end processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy.

What's on Offer

  • A high-impact role with real ownership and visibility across a diverse property portfolio.
  • The opportunity to shape the role and influence how finance partners with the wider business.
  • Direct exposure to the Chairman and senior leadership team.
  • A collaborative environment with strong interaction across finance, asset management, and investment functions.
  • Opportunity to contribute to both operational and strategic financial decision-making.
