We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Grounds Operative to join our team in Nibley, South Gloucestershire! This temporary position is perfect for someone who loves working with nature and has a keen eye for detail.

What We Offer:

Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: £14.00 per hour
Working Pattern: Full Time 37 hours per week
Driving Required: Full UK Driving Licence required

About the Role:
As a Grounds Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beautiful green spaces throughout South Gloucestershire. Your tasks will be varied and engaging, including:

Grass cutting and shrub maintenance
Litter picking and ensuring public areas are clean and welcoming
Trimming and reducing hedges to enhance the natural environment
Maintaining flower and plant beds for a vibrant community aesthetic
Conducting heavy cutbacks in public parks, open spaces, and woodland areasYou will be responsible for using commercial powered hand tools, ensuring safe work practises while adhering to health and safety regulations. Your role will also involve assisting with horticultural operations, including minor landscaping works such as planting bedding, shrubs, and trees.

When needed, you will help maintain the council's cycle route network and assist in the collection of fly-tipping waste. Your work will contribute significantly to the quality of life for residents and visitors alike!

What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should have:

Demonstrable experience in gardening or grounds maintenance
Proficiency in operating commercial grounds equipment (strimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers)
A full, valid UK driving licence, with experience driving long wheelbase transit style tippers preferred
Ability to follow instructions, read maps, and maintain accurate records
A strong understanding of health and safety practises, including awareness of associated risks and hazardsWhy Join Us?
