Job Description

Role: Grid Connections Manager

Salary: Up to £45,000 + benefits

Location: Central London

Role type: Full-time

We’re supporting a leading clean energy developer in their search for a Grid Connections manager to lead and manage grid connection activity across their UK battery storage portfolio.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a dynamic development team building out the next generation of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems. You’ll take the lead on all aspects of grid applications, offer review, connection tracking, and will collaborate with internal teams and network operators to ensure successful project delivery.

As well as your grid expertise, there’s plenty of opportunity to get involved more broadly across development - including site assessment, planning input, and land agreements - ideal for someone who enjoys a varied and fast-moving role.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Submitting technically robust grid connection applications to DNOs, IDNOs, and National Grid ESO
  • Reviewing offers for technical/commercial risk, identifying cost optimisation opportunities
  • Liaising with networks, contractors, and internal teams to deliver timely connections
  • Maintaining internal systems and trackers, reporting on grid status and key project data
  • Acting as a primary point of contact with network operators and external consultants
  • Supporting wider development work: site feasibility, stakeholder engagement, and legal documentation

What We’re Looking For

  • Solid knowledge of UK distribution/transmission grid connection processes
  • Confident with engineering standards (e.g. G99, G100, P28) and industry codes (CUSC, Distribution Code)
  • Experience working in EPC, renewables, or infrastructure development environments
  • Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional, collaborative teams
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable operating in a scale-up environment

Why Apply?

  • Join a well-backed clean energy player with a strong UK project pipeline
  • Be the go-to grid specialist in a forward-thinking, supportive development team
  • Excellent progression and exposure as the business continues to scale
  • Hybrid working, full benefits package, and a mission-driven culture
