The Role

This role is perfect if you’re aiming for a future in teaching, psychology, mental health, speech & language therapy, occupational therapy, or education.

You’ll support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, follow structured learning approaches, and use visual communication strategies daily. It’s challenging, rewarding, and never boring.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils with ASD across EYFS and Primary

Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions

Using visual supports including:

Visual timetables

Now/Next boards

Social stories

Task breakdowns

Supporting communication using PECS, Makaton, and visual systems

Assisting with sensory regulation, including movement breaks and sensory tools

Supporting emotional wellbeing and personal care where required

Promoting positive behaviour and smooth transitions

Working closely with teachers to adapt resources

Maintaining calm, low-arousal learning environments

Following safeguarding procedures at all times
