ASAP / September Start Available Cheltenham £85 - £100 per day Are you a graduate looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs in a specialist education setting based in Cheltenham? About the Role You will be working closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including ASD, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and communication needs. The role focuses on building positive relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping pupils access learning through adapted and individualised approaches. Key responsibilities include: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis within the classroom Assisting with differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs Encouraging communication, independence, and social development Supporting sensory regulation and structured routines Working collaboratively with teachers and wider specialist staff Promoting a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate: Patient, nurturing and emotionally resilient Passionate about supporting children with additional needs Confident working within structured routines and supportive environments Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils Adaptable and proactive in supporting learning and wellbeing Candidates with experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant would be highly beneficial, particularly those with a background supporting autism or complex needs.
