Job Description
A leading UK engineering, infrastructure and professional services organisation is recruiting graduates to join its Engineering Graduate Scheme, offering hands-on involvement in projects that modernise infrastructure, deliver low-carbon solutions and support a more sustainable future.
This scheme is designed for graduates who want real responsibility from day one, flexibility to shape their development, and a clear pathway into a permanent engineering role.
The Programme
This is a two-year rotational graduate scheme built around autonomy and choice. Rather than following a fixed pathway, graduates co-design their rotations, selecting specialist areas aligned to their interests and career goals.
Key Criteria
Education
A degree in any engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical, electrical, civil, environmental, energy, building services or related)
You will:
Complete two six-month rotations in year one
Spend year two specialising in a chosen engineering discipline
Rotate across project delivery, power and grid, energy systems, infrastructure, consulting and specialist engineering teams
Work on live projects supporting critical infrastructure, sustainability and energy transition initiatives
Projects span design, modelling, site delivery, infrastructure development and carbon reduction, across both public and private sector environments.
What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Graduate, you will:
Support the delivery of real engineering and infrastructure projects
Assist with modelling, technical drawings, data analysis and site information
Contribute to energy efficiency, sustainability and performance improvement initiatives
Collaborate with engineering, commercial, operations and consulting teams
Apply data and insight to support technical and commercial decision-making
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused scheme designed to build both technical capability and commercial awareness.
Development & Professional Recognition
Your development sits at the heart of the scheme. You will benefit from:
Technical masterclasses and project-based learning
Leadership and behavioural skills training
Structured mentoring and supportive line management
Active support towards professional recognition and chartership with a relevant engineering institution
You will join a collaborative graduate community and gain the experience required to progress confidently towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
Skills & Attributes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Confidence working with data to inform decisions
Clear communication and ability to collaborate across teams
Curious, proactive and adaptable mindset
Ambition to build a long-term engineering career
The organisation recruits for mindset and potential, not just technical specialism.
Reward & Benefits
£30,000 starting salary with automatic six-monthly uplifts
£1,000 relocation and early-career support allowance
Guaranteed permanent role on completion of the scheme
Enhanced pension contributions and share schemes
Life assurance (up to 4x salary)
Flexible lifestyle benefits platform
Virtual GP and wellbeing support
Cycle-to-work scheme and retail discounts
Recognition and reward programmes
Hybrid working and flexibility are supported where roles allow.
