GP Operations Manager Location: Vauxhall Salary: up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Hours: Full time Overview We are seeking an experienced GP Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of two busy primary care sites.

This role is central to ensuring smooth service delivery, a positive patient experience, and strong team performance.
Working closely with the Practice Business Manager, you will focus on operational leadership, workforce management, and site coordination, enabling strategic priorities to be delivered effectively.
Key duties Operational delivery (across sites) Manage daily operations across the main SW9 surgery and the North Lambeth branch, ensuring consistent service standards.
Oversee appointment scheduling, patient flow, and administrative systems, using EMIS and other digital tools effectively.
Attend the branch site regularly to monitor performance, address issues, and maintain compliance standards.
Support planning for the transition to a new, purpose-built Vauxhall site, ensuring operational readiness ahead of relocation.
Team management & HR Provide direct line management to reception, administrative, and HCA teams, acting as the first point of contact for staffing matters.
Handle core HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, absence management, performance issues, and disciplinary matters, escalating complex cases where appropriate.
Ensure staff records and HR documentation are accurate, up to date, and fully compliant.
Foster a structured, supportive working environment with clear expectations and accountability.
Governance & compliance Assist in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements, including CQC standards, infection control, and NHS/local policies.
Coordinate routine checks, training, servicing, and audit actions as required.
Act as the operational lead during inspections, ensuring preparedness across teams and documentation.
Service development Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance access, workflow, and patient experience.
Contribute to service redesign linked to the new Vauxhall premises, including new processes and pathways.
Support teams through change, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems and ways of working.
Candidate profile Essential You need to have experience in a managerial capacity in a GP or primary care setting within an operations, senior admin, or management role.
Confident user of EMIS with hands-on experience.
Proven ability to lead and develop front-line teams in a healthcare environment.
Practical HR experience, including managing absence, performance, and employee relations.
Clear communication skills and a professional approach.
Ability to travel between sites Desirable Experience working across multiple GP sites.
Involvement in practice moves, mergers, or large-scale service changes.
