We are seeking to appoint a Governance Officer within our Legal and Governance Service to support robust corporate governance, sound decision-making and democratic accountability across the organisation.

The Governance Officer role sits within the Governance team and provides vital support to RBHs governing bodies (including Board, The Representative Body and Committees) coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and papers, taking accurate minutes, and maintaining statutory registers. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, facilitates effective decision-making, and acts as a key point of contact for governance queries.

Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, ensuring information is shared accurately and confidentially, and queries are handled with care and discretion.

Has excellent organisational skills with the ability to forward plan, balance priorities and co-ordinate events.

Possesses a high standard of data and information literacy with excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce documents and minutes of meetings to a high standard.

Has the ability to find innovative solutions and to adapt and prioritise deadlines, completing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Positively embraces change, adapting to the ever-changing social housing sector.

Is able to understand discussions in a debating forum, providing accurate summaries and record keeping of decisions.

Is a competent user of IT including working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Office 365
