General Teaching Assistant – Potters Bar, Hertfordshire

Are you a caring, proactive, and dedicated General Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in a primary school setting? A friendly and supportive primary school in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team from 2 February 2026 on a full-time, temporary basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work across Key Stage 1, supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN). The Role

As a General Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities

• Work with small groups and individual pupils to support learning and development

• Provide tailored support for pupils with SEN, helping them access the curriculum

• Assist with behaviour management and encourage positive engagement

• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

• Support pupils during transitions, playtimes and structured activities

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in a primary school setting

• Has an understanding of SEN and inclusive practices

• Is patient, reliable and enthusiastic about supporting young learners

• Communicates effectively with pupils, staff and parents

• Is flexible, proactive and able to work well as part of a team

• Daily rate of £90–£100, depending on experience

• Term-time working hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
