General Sales Manager

Location: Basingstoke

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 Basic | £65,000 – £70,000+ OTE

Hours: Monday–Saturday (day off in week) + Sunday rota (if applicable)

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced General Sales Manager to lead the sales function at a high-performing dealership in Basingstoke.

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving profitability, managing the sales team, and ensuring exceptional customer experience across both new and used vehicle departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Sales Department (New & Used)
• Drive volume, profitability, and KPIs across the business
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Sales Managers & Executives
• Oversee stock management, pricing, and margin control
• Ensure F&I performance and compliance standards are met
• Monitor and improve customer satisfaction (CSI)
• Work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver business objectives
• Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer partners

Requirements

• Proven experience as a General Sales Manager or Sales Manager within a dealership
• Strong track record of hitting and exceeding targets
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Commercially driven with a focus on profitability and performance
• Experience with volume or premium brands
• Full UK driving licence
