We’re Hiring: General Manager – GymWorks Chorley

Position: General Manager


Location: GymWorks Chorley


Salary: Competitive, with an amazing bonus scheme


Working Hours: Flexible – set by the General Manager


Key Responsibilities:

As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the full operation of the club and ensuring it runs at peak performance every day. This includes:

  • Leading, motivating, and managing a team of fitness professionals and front-of-house staff
  • Driving business performance through memberships, PT revenue, and secondary spend sales
  • Taking ownership of member satisfaction and delivering exceptional customer service
  • Maintaining and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation throughout the facility
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the club including rotas, stock, and facility maintenance
  • Overseeing recruitment, staff development, and performance reviews
  • Implementing sales strategies and contributing to local marketing initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and company procedures
  • Reporting on KPIs and supporting senior management in strategic decisions
  • Representing GymWorks positively in the local community and building strong relationships with partners

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone with strong operational and industry-specific experience.


  • Essential:Experience as a manager or team leader in a busy environment
  • Background in the fitness industry
  • Level 2 Gym Instructor & Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications
  • Proven experience in sales and hitting targets
  • Strong customer service and people management skills
  • A valid DBS check (or willing to provide one)
  • Full UK driving license
  • Desirable:First Aid certification
