General Manager

£50,000 - £55,000, Uckfield, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:30- 17:30), Permanent, 20 days holiday + bank holidays, free parking, monthly staff lunches.

The Role

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a wonderful manufacturing business based centrally in Uckfield, and supporting them in their search for a friendly, experienced and knowledgeable General Manager. Reporting to the owners in a board-level role, with responsibility for day-to-day operations, this role exists to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business, allowing the owners to step back from operational involvement while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and service.

Key responsibilities include:

Day-to-day responsibility for factory operations
Production planning, labour allocation and improving workflow efficiencies
Line management of the Operations, Sales and Finance Teams
Continuous improvements to H&S, Hygiene, Quality Control and Compliance procedures
Working closely with Technical/QA to support BRCGS and audits
Implementing KPIs and monitor performance
Supporting growth while keeping control of costs and margins
Uphold the values of the business and maintain company reputation for excellence

Requirements
Experience in a similar role within a small food production/manufacturing company is essential, along with strong leadership skills, ability to assess and implement required improvements and holds relevant food hygiene and health and safety qualifications/experience. Proven ability to take ownership, make decisions and lead a manufacturing operation with minimal supervision, and a hands on approach.
