It has been reliably generating renewable electricity for over a decade and continues to play a key role in supporting the UK’s energy transition.The asset is jointly owned by SSE Renewables and RWE, with RWE responsible for operations and maintenance under a long-term service arrangement. This role sits within RWE and is central to delivering safe, efficient, and commercially effective operations on behalf of the joint venture.AsRWE’sGeneral Manager,you’lltake overall responsibility forRWE’s operational performance-from safety and compliance through to operational output and cost control.You’llbe expected to balance day-to-day operational demands with longer-term thinking around asset performance and value.About the roleTake overall responsibility forRWE’soperational performance of Greater Gabbard, including safety, availability, asset integrity, and cost controlAct as the accountable leader for all HSE matters, ensuring risks are actively managed and standards are consistently metOversee delivery of the operational budget, with a focus on cost discipline andidentifyingopportunities to improve efficiencyShape and deliver the site’s operational strategy, including initiatives to improve reliability, extend asset life, and enhance performanceLead maintenance planning and execution, working closely with contractors and OEMs to ensure work is delivered safely and effectivelyProvide clear leadership to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a strong, pragmatic, and safety-focused cultureServe as the main point of contact for the asset owners,representingRWE in both operational and commercial discussionsBuild andmaintaineffective relationships with partners, regulators, and key suppliersJob experience and requirementsSignificant experiencein a senior operational leadership role, ideally within offshore wind or a comparable asset-heavy industryA track recordof managing complex operations and driving performance improvements over timeExperience working within a service or contract delivery model, particularly where multiple stakeholders are involvedStrong grounding in health, safety, and environmental management in regulated or high-risk environmentsCommercial awareness, with experience managing budgets and delivering against financial targetsConfident leading teams and working across disciplines, with the ability to influence both internally and externallyA relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in engineering, energy, or a related fieldAn offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level.
