GCSE Maths & English Outreach Tutor (Buckinghamshire)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Teacher to deliver bespoke 1:1 GCSE Maths and English tuition to young people in Buckinghamshire who are currently not attending mainstream school.
In this Outreach Tutor role, you will design and deliver tailored learning programmes that fill gaps in education, rebuild confidence, and improve attainment. This position is ideal for a teacher looking to step away from the traditional classroom and provide more personalised, meaningful support to learners.
Many of the pupils you will work with may have been out of education for a significant period, so sessions often begin with confidence‑building and re-engagement. Your ability to provide structure, consistency, and encouragement will be key to helping them progress.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor student development and ensure each learner receives effective, high‑quality support.
CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS
Location: Various locations across Buckinghamshire Position: Outreach Tutor (GCSE Maths & English) Type of Work: 1:1 tuition - face-to-face Start Date: ASAP Duration: Varies depending on the student Contract Type: Temporary Hours: Flexible - part‑time and full‑time options available Pay: From £25 per hour Session Length: Minimum 1 hour, maximum 3 hours per session
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent required Experience teaching Maths and English up to GCSE level Minimum 6 months' UK school-based experience Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE WITH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one Provide two professional, child‑related references covering the last two years
