Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes, ensuring the health and aesthetic appeal of gardens and green spaces. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about horticulture, construction, and landscape maintenance to apply their skills in a dynamic environment. The position involves working with various tools and machinery, requiring mechanical knowledge and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
* Maintain lawns, hedges, flower beds, and communal gardens across council estates
* Carry out regular litter picking and waste removal from outdoor areas
* Ensure pathways, entrances, and communal spaces are clean and hazard-free
* Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, snow removal, and gritting
* Report fly-tipping, vandalism, or safety concerns to the appropriate council team
* Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (e.g., mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers).
* Engage respectfully with residents and uphold the council’s standards of servic
Qualifications
* Must be a driver and be able to drive a 3.5 tone van, with trailer experience but not essential.
* Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping.
* Familarity with health and safety procedures in public spaces
* Ability to use and maintain outdoor tools and machinery
* Good communication skills and a community-focused attitude
* Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Basic knowledge of horticulture
