Salary: £35,000 per annum
The Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced and service driven Front of House Duty Manager to join the catering team at a prestigious college. This is a key operational role, responsible for the day to day dining hall facility aswell as delivering exceptional hospitality across formal and informal dining settings, conferences, and high profile college events.
You will lead front-of-house service standards, manage teams with professionalism and warmth, and ensure every guest experience reflects the heritage, values, and reputation of the college.
The Role
Oversee the front of house operations across dining halls, events, and functions
Act as Duty Manager, ensuring smooth service delivery and rapid resolution of any issues
Lead, motivate, and train front-of-house teams to deliver consistently high standards
Maintain excellent customer service for students, fellows, staff, and external guests
Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations
Collaborate closely with kitchen, events, and college stakeholders
Support the delivery of formal dinners, VIP events, conferences, and celebrations
The ideal applicant
Proven experience in a front-of-house supervisory or duty management role in a busy environment
Background in high quality hospitality, events, hotels, or contract catering preferred
Calm, organised, and confident under pressure
Strong leadership and communication skills
A professional, polished manner with attention to detail
Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends
