Founding Lead Engineer


North West / Remote (Manchester access required)

£70,000–£110,000 + equity


Our client is building an AI and data-driven consumer platform.


They are looking for a hands-on Founding Lead Engineer to join from day one. You’ll work directly with the founders to design, build and launch the product, owning both the technical architecture and delivery.


This is a true start up role combining coding, architecture and team leadership, initially managing an offshore engineering team, supported by experienced fractional CPO, CTO to deliver a world class solution.


Tech stack

TypeScript, React, Tailwind, React Native (Expo), Fastify APIs, Postgres, with a strong focus on AI-enabled features and scalable data infrastructure.


What we’re looking for

  • Strong full stack engineer with experience building and launching products
  • Comfortable designing scalable systems from scratch
  • Experience leading or coordinating engineering teams
  • Able to move quickly and solve complex problems
  • Experience integrating third-party platforms
  • Startup or early-stage build experience preferred
  • Actively using AI tools like Cursor, Copilot or Claude in development workflows
  • Interest in fitness or wellbeing is a plus.


The setup

Remote initially, moving to hybrid as the team grows. Manchester city centre access required.
