Founding CTO (Equity-First) | Deal Assure Company: Deal Assure Founding CTO — Equity-First Location: Remote / United Kingdom preferred Workplace type: Remote Compensation: Equity-first founding role. Any cash component, if applicable, to be agreed based on stage, timing, and availability. About Deal Assure Deal Assure is building an AI-native deal governance and execution platform for private equity, M&A, and corporate development teams. The product is designed to solve a specific problem: in most deals, the original investment thesis gets separated from diligence findings, then separated again from the actual actions taken after close. Important issues get buried in reports, decisions are made across email and meetings, accountability becomes unclear, and the post-close execution plan often drifts away from the original value-creation case. Deal Assure is intended to connect those stages in one system. The platform links:
the original investment thesis diligence evidence and findings variances between thesis and reality recommended dispositions and decisions human approvals and overrides and post-close integration actions
…so that deal teams can move from diligence insight to explicit, human-approved execution with a clear audit trail. The longer-term vision is to build a platform where humans and AI agents work together in deal execution, but where permissions, approvals, evidence lineage, workflow state, and the official record are properly governed inside the product. This is not intended to be a generic AI wrapper or a simple diligence summarisation tool. The ambition is to build a system that becomes the control layer between investment thesis, decision‑making, and post‑close execution. The role We are looking for a hands-on Founding CTO to help shape the product, define the technical architecture, and personally contribute to building the MVP. This is a builder role. We are looking for someone who can combine technical depth, product judgment, and practical execution in an early‑stage environment. You will be expected to contribute directly to the build, alongside helping define the technical direction and longer‑term engineering strategy. What you would do
Help translate the product vision into a practical MVP Work closely with the founder on product definition, sequencing, and trade‑offs Define the initial technical architecture for the MVP Help shape the product into something commercially useful and technically defensible Lead, build, or closely oversee development of the MVP Design the application around third‑party AI models/services where appropriate Build product‑specific AI/agent‑style features for extraction, triage, action suggestion, and drafting Ensure strong foundations around permissions, audit trail, workflow correctness, and decision logging Help design the product so it is genuinely defensible rather than a thin layer over third‑party models Help make sensible decisions on stack, tooling, vendors, and engineering priorities Support early customer and design‑partner discussions where technical credibility matters Help build the engineering function over time
What we are looking for We are looking for someone who combines technical depth, product judgment, and founder‑level pragmatism. You may already be a CTO, or you may be a senior engineer / founding engineer / technical product builder ready to step into a founding CTO role.
Strong hands‑on software engineering capability Experience building and shipping real products, ideally in early‑stage environments Willingness to personally code and help build the MVP Strong architecture judgment and ability to avoid unnecessary complexity Practical experience with AI/LLM‑enabled products or workflows Ability to distinguish between genuine product value and thin prompt‑based functionality Understanding of how to build reliable systems around AI outputs, including validation, human approval, and controlled workflow execution Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping turn broad ideas into focused product decisions
Helpful experience
AI‑enabled workflow products Audit, approval, or decision‑heavy systems Document‑based products Microsoft 365, SharePoint, or Teams integrations M&A, private markets, legal tech, fintech, or governance‑heavy environments
Compensation and stage This is an equity‑first founding role. We are open to speaking with candidates who may want to structure involvement differently depending on availability and stage fit, but this is intended to be a high‑ownership role. Why this could be interesting This is an opportunity to help define the product and technical foundations of a company at a very early stage. The right person will have meaningful influence over:
the product architecture the MVP shape the use of AI and agent workflows the technical moat and the long‑term platform direction
