Food Technology Teacher

We are seeking a qualified teacher of Food Technology to teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and potentially up to Key Stage 5 at a specialist secondary school in Birmingham. The school caters for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder and learning difficulties, some with complex needs. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference and improving educational outcomes for pupils with autism and learning difficulties.We are seeking interest from candidates who: Hold UK QTS or QTLS with Design Technology (Food Technology and Hygiene) Have experience of working with pupils with ASC and SEMH, gained preferably in a special school Are passionate about their subject and can deliver lessons in an engaging manner Can motivate, encourage and develop students’ interest in the subject Will ensure that all statutory requirements of the National Curriculum are met Has experience of the design and delivery of the Food Technology curriculum Can keep effective assessment records Has experience of monitoring and assessing progress of young people with additional needs Can bring the subject to life through providing relevant and practical experiences The post is for the whole of the academic year 2025 - 2026.
