Job Description
Flight Control Engineer\nLocation: Cambridge\n Salary: £60,000 – £130,000 + Equity + Benefits\n\n This is an opportunity to join a well-funded, fast-growing technology company developing advanced autonomous flight systems for high-performance platforms. You’ll work on real vehicles and real flight programmes, with direct responsibility for how systems behave in the air.\n\nThe role suits an engineer who enjoys owning complex systems end to end. You’ll be involved from early architectural decisions through to flight testing, helping translate control and navigation theory into reliable, flight-ready software.\n\nYour work will centre on evolving autopilot architectures, shaping how guidance, navigation, and control come together in real-time environments.
You’ll use simulation and flight data to tune performance, support flight campaigns, and feed learning straight back into the system. Collaboration is central, with close interaction across GNC, avionics, and software teams.\n\nKey Requirements\n\nProven experience developing autopilot or flight control systems\nEnd‑to‑end UAV autopilot development experience \nStrong understanding in control theory, navigation filters and embedded flight software\nPX4 experience - highly desirable\nIn return, the company offers a highly competitive salary with flexibility for exceptional candidates, meaningful equity, comprehensive private healthcare, and the chance to work on ambitious, technically demanding flight systems in a high-growth environment
