We are looking for Transport Compliance Support who would like to help us reach our mission to earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service.
Purpose of this role The Transport Compliance Officer supports the Transport Compliance Manager in ensuring that all vehicles, drivers, and associated processes operate in full compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards. This role focuses on administrative tasks, data accuracy, record maintenance, and assisting with compliance monitoring activities across the fleet operation alongside a customer centric focus.
Your key responsibilities are Maintain accurate records for driver documentation, including licences.
Monitor vehicle MOT, service schedules, inspections, and safety checks, LOLER, & Load tests ensuring all are completed on time.
Support onboarding activities for new drivers, ensuring all compliance documentation is collected and verified.
Update and manage fleet compliance systems and databases with high accuracy.
Organise maintenance records in line with company retention policies.
Prepare compliance reports and summaries for internal teams and managers.
Assist with the preparation of documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
Liaise with workshops, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve compliance-related issues.
Handle incoming accident and incident calls, ensuring accurate information is recorded and escalated appropriately.
Monitor defect reporting processes, chase outstanding repairs, and ensure close-out of safety-critical issues.
Support the investigation of compliance breaches or incidents by gathering information and documentation.
Provide general customer support including answering emails and telephone calls.
Site visits, vehicle inspections, and coordination with external providers
Working with the wider transport team to provide excellent support to our engineers.
Qualifications Level 2 Maths and English qualifications (GCSE grades A* to C).
Experience/Knowledge Experience of working being able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of using fleet management systems, compliance platforms).
Experience of working in an operational environment liaising with internal and external customers/suppliers.
Understanding of vehicle legislation, and transport compliance.
Prior experience in fleet, transport, logistics, and compliance.
Abilities/Skills Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work with data, maintain accurate records, and follow structured processes in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills across internal teams and external suppliers.
Strong IT literacy (Proficient in Excel).
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Desirable Formal qualification in Transport Compliance.
