This is a programme intended to give you a breadth of knowledge and experience within the business to enable you to make informed decisions about where you would like to develop your career.
The main purpose of the Investment Specialist Intern is to support the other team members through producing presentation materials on behalf of the Global Fixed Income (GFI) investment team, improving and maintaining existing tools and preparing answers to ad‑hoc client requests or periodic client reporting support.
Responsibilities
Produce and automate presentations (for portfolio reviews or investment proposals) and reports using internal front‑office tools, Excel/VBA, PowerPoint, Python, Bloomberg
Produce and update performance attribution on a monthly basis
Write and maintain VBA and Python codes to aid portfolio analysis, positioning, performance, generating regular/ad‑hoc presentations and reports
Extract historical portfolio data to respond to ad‑hoc queries, RFPs and regular requirements
Track deliverables and deadlines to ensure high quality of service
Maintain market and product knowledge in line with quality standards
Participate in investment strategy meetings when required (in a supporting capacity)
Requirements
Degree qualified in a relevant financial markets field
Fluent in English; other languages a plus but not essential
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Interest in fixed‑income products
Team‑player approach with flexibility, reliability, responsibility and commitment
Experience using Excel/VBA, PowerPoint, Python
Ability to prioritise between tasks and produce quality results
Confidence, thoughtful, measured, solution‑oriented; direct access to portfolio managers
