Fire & Security Service Engineer\nLocation: Oxford\nJob Type: Permanent\nPackage: £32,000 – £40,000 basic + overtime, travel pay & call-out (OTE £50k–£60k)\nOverview\nAn opportunity has arisen for a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join a busy and expanding service team, supporting contracts within the social housing sector.\nThis role is heavily focused on planned maintenance and reactive works, ensuring life safety systems remain compliant and fully operational. You’ll be working across a varied portfolio of sites, dealing directly with clients and on a daily basis.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Perform planned servicing and reactive repairs on life safety systems\n * Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs\n * Work across multiple systems including:\n * Fire alarms (conventional & addressable)\n * AOV systems\n * Emergency lighting\n * CCTV and access control\n * Warden call systems\n * Fire extinguishers\n * Complete job reports accurately and flag any system issues\n * Ensure all works meet current safety standards and regulations\n * Manage van stock levels and request parts when required\n * Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times\nCandidate Requirements\n * Proven experience working with fire alarm systems\n * Good understanding of BS5839 standards\n * Familiarity with both addressable and conventional systems\n * FIA or equivalent training is beneficial\n * Experience with additional security systems is advantageous\n * Full UK driving licence\n * Strong troubleshooting skills\n * Comfortable using handheld devices/software for reporting\n * Health & safety conscious approach\nPackage\n * £32,000 – £40,000 basic salary\n * OTE £50k–£60k+ (overtime, travel & call-out)\n * Enhanced overtime rates (1.5x)\n * Company van and fuel card\n * Tools, test equipment, phone & tablet provided\n * 22 days holiday + bank holidays\n * Pension & life cover\n * Employee wellbeing support & benefits platform\nAbout Us\nWestwood Recruitment Solutions Ltd operates as an employment agency.
