Job Description
Job Title: Fire Alarm Installation Engineer
Location: London, Essex, Kent & South East
Salary: Negotiable up to £40,000 basic, with OTE in excess of £50,000
Benefits: Company van, pension scheme, 20 days’ annual leave (increasing by one day per year), birthday holiday, and holiday purchase scheme
Our Client is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of new and existing fire detection and alarm systems across a range of commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities
Install fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839 standards and industry best practice Maintain high engineering standards and ensure company tools and equipment are kept in excellent condition Demonstrate excellent timekeeping and maintain a clean, safe working environment on all sites Provide regular updates on work progress as required by management Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat and future business Manage and account for tools, plant, and materials on site to meet project requirements Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental policies affecting employees and customers Submit weekly progress reports to the Project Engineer and Project Manager
Experience & Qualifications Required
City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation, or an equivalent qualification Proven experience installing containment and cabling for fire detection and alarm systems Experience working within commercial environments 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience Strong working knowledge of relevant fire standards, including: BS 5839 Part 1 BS 6266 Part 1 BS 7273 FIA training completed, including: Unit 1 – Fire Detection Design Unit 4 – Installation and Testing Valid CSCS, ECS, SSSTS, or equivalent certification IPAF and PASMA certification Full Driving License
