Fire Alarm Engineer\n Salary: £32,000 – £47,000 per annum (Based on 40 hours/week)\n Hours: Monday to Friday, with optional overtime and on-call rota\n\n:\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a well-established and growing team. This role focuses on Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), system repairs, fault-finding, and installations across a range of life safety systems.\n\nYou’ll work across a variety of environments and sites, delivering high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. Every day is different, offering variety and challenge.\n\nKey Duties:\n\n * \n\n Service, maintain and install:\n\n * \n\n Fire alarm systems (BS5839-1 compliant)\n\n * \n\n Emergency lighting systems\n\n * \n\n Nurse call and access control systems\n\n * \n\n Diagnose faults and aim to complete first-time fixes\n\n * \n\n Complete detailed and accurate service reports\n\n * \n\n Maintain and inspect additional life safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and AOVs\n\n * \n\n Conduct regular stock checks and manage van inventory\n\n * \n\n Follow health & safety procedures and report any risks promptly\n\nRequirements:\n\n * \n\n Experience with conventional and addressable fire alarm systems\n\n * \n\n FIA training or equivalent certification (BS5839-1 Fundamentals)\n\n * \n\n Strong understanding of BS5839 (Parts 1 and 6)\n\n * \n\n Full UK Driving Licence (essential)\n\n * \n\n Basic IT skills for completing digital reports\n\n * \n\n Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota\n\n * \n\n Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary: £32,000 – £37,000 (based on 40 hours/week)\n\n * \n\n Overtime paid at 1.5x standard rate\n\n * \n\n Regular earnings boost through travel time and call-out work (most engineers work 45–50 hours/week)\n\n * \n\n Company van with fuel card\n\n * \n\n Mobile phone and tablet provided\n\n * \n\n Full set of tools and test equipment\n\n * \n\n 22 days annual leave + 8 UK bank holidays (30 days total)
