Baker Charles is partnering with a private equity–backed, multi-site business to appoint a high-calibre Finance Director. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with responsibility for leading commercial finance and performance reporting across a growing international business.

The business is fast-growing and operationally complex, with continued UK expansion and early-stage international rollout. This appointment will play a critical role in driving commercial performance, enhancing insight, and supporting delivery of the value creation plan as the organisation continues to scale. The Finance Director will take ownership of the day-to-day finance agenda across commercial finance and reporting, acting as a trusted partner to the CFO and senior leadership team while driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement across the business.

  • Leadership & Strategy – Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, you will help shape and deliver the finance strategy aligned to growth and value creation. You will lead, structure, and develop a finance team across the UK, international and offshore locations, ensuring clear accountability and consistent ways of working. You will act as a visible and credible finance leader across the organisation, with the ability to challenge constructively and drive high performance.
  • Reporting, Performance & Insight – You will own management reporting and performance insight across UK and international operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and commercially relevant reporting. You will lead monthly performance reviews, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; providing clear visibility of risks and opportunities. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will ensure alignment between reporting, controls, and underlying data, continuously improving reporting quality as the business scales.
  • Commercial Finance & Business Partnering – You will lead all commercial finance and business partnering activity, working closely with operational and central teams to drive performance and profitability across a multi-site estate. This will include pricing, cost optimisation, and investment decisions for new site openings. A key part of the role will be challenging assumptions and existing ways of working, ensuring a data-led approach translates into measurable performance improvement and value creation.
  • Growth & International Expansion – The role will support international growth, including the development of the international finance function. You will work closely with the CFO on investor reporting, delivery of the value creation plan, and exit preparation, while identifying opportunities to enhance profitability, efficiency, and return on investment across the business.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with proven experience leading finance teams in multi-site, operationally complex environments. You will bring strong commercial finance, reporting, and business partnering capability, with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders. Experience building structure and process in scaling organisations, managing geographically dispersed or offshore teams, and operating within fast-paced, change-driven environments will be important. Exposure to private equity–backed businesses, international operations, or exit preparation would be advantageous.
