The Role:
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a key role in strengthening financial control, supporting transformation initiatives, and acting as a commercial partner to the wider business.
Key responsibilities include:
Ownership of financial control, reporting, and governance
Leading business partnering with non-finance stakeholders across the organisation
Working closely with FP&A teams to support forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis
Oversight of corporation tax and VAT compliance
Supporting and enhancing finance systems, with a particular focus on ERP implementation and optimisation
Developing and mentoring a small finance team
Contributing to the ongoing evolution of finance processes in a high-growth environment
Candidate Profile:
ACA or ACCA qualified (essential)
Strong grounding in technical accounting, with experience handling complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, accruals, and provisions
Proven ability to manage statutory accounts preparation and audit processes, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors
Strong knowledge of UK corporation tax and VAT
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment
Confident communicator with the ability to partner effectively with senior non-finance stakeholders
Motivated by the opportunity to build, shape, and mentor within a growing finance function
