Financial Controller (Automotive Manufacturing)\n\nAbout the role:\n\nThe Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong cash management, and effective cost control. Working closely with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team, this role provides financial insight to support strategic decisions and business growth.\n\nWhat you’ll do:\n\nThe following responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n\n * Manage the month-end and year-end closure processes accurately and on time.\n\n * Prepare and present monthly financial reporting packs to the Group office.\n\n * Lead cash flow planning, credit control, and working capital management.\n\n * Deliver financial insights and analysis to support senior leadership decision-making.\n\n * Ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and identification of risks and opportunities.\n\n * Lead and develop the Finance team, ensuring consistency and excellence in financial operations.\n\n * Oversee project accounting and profitability tracking to support commercial performance.\n\n * Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing financial guidance on performance optimisation and cost efficiency.\n\n * Provide strategic direction and oversight to project teams, ensuring accountability and timely delivery of financial objectives.\n\n * Manage statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit requirements in line with corporate and regulatory standards.\n\n * Champion continuous improvement, strengthen internal controls, and support the evolution of financial systems and processes.\n\n * Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.\n\n * Support senior management with scenario planning and financial modelling for future business initiatives.\n\n * Support capital investment processes, including preparation of approval forms and analysis (MIRR, DCF, and payback).\n\n * Serve as a mentor and coach to Finance team members, fostering professional growth and performance excellence.\n\n * Lead or support ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.\n\nWhat we need from you:\n\n * Demonstrable experience in a similar senior finance role, preferably within an automotive, manufacturing, or engineering environment.\n\n * Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).\n\n * Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to meet challenging deadlines.\n\n * Strong proficiency in ERP systems.\n\n * Proactive, professional, and positive approach to work.\n\n * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.\n\n * Effective leadership qualities, with experience managing and motivating high-performing teams.\n\n * Sound decision-making ability, capable of operating effectively in complex or ambiguous situations.\n\n * Advanced IT skills, including strong Microsoft Excel capability; SAP experience is advantageous.\n\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.\n\n * High level of accuracy, integrity, and commitment to quality.\n\n * Dedicated to supporting business goals, team success, and continuous improvement.\n\n * Willingness to learn and develop professionally within a dynamic environment
