Financial Controller

We’re working with a fast-growing media business to hire a Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function and support the leadership team with high-quality financial insight. This role is ideal for a hands-on FC who enjoys operating in a dynamic, creative environment and partnering closely with non-finance stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for ensuring robust financial control, improving processes, and supporting strategic decision-making as the business continues to scale. Key Responsibilities
Own the day-to-day finance function, including month-end close, management accounts, and balance sheet integrity Prepare monthly management reporting, variance analysis, and commentary for senior leadership Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning Oversee statutory accounts, audit processes, and external advisors Ensure strong financial controls, policies, and compliance across the business Partner with commercial, production, and operational teams to support decision-making Review and improve finance systems, processes, and reporting as the business grows Manage and develop junior finance team members (where applicable) Support ad-hoc projects including growth initiatives, new revenue streams, and business planning
About You
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Experience in a media, creative, content, or fast-paced commercial environment Strong technical accounting and financial control background Commercially minded with the ability to communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders Comfortable in a hands-on role within a scaling business Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working autonomously
