Financial Controller

Our client is a well-established UK manufacturing business and part of a wider group. With multiple sites and a strong governance culture, the business offers genuine scope to influence operations and performance.

This is a senior, hands-on role with full responsibility for day-to-day financial control, reporting and compliance. The Financial Controller will lead a small transactional team, provide clear performance insight to senior stakeholders, and act as the principal finance contact for the business.

Key responsibilities:

Full ownership of monthly management accounts in line with group timetables
Production of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting with meaningful variance analysis
Board and senior management reporting, including performance commentary
Development and maintenance of robust financial controls, policies and procedures
Leading the annual budget and forecast cycles, challenging assumptions where needed
Business partnering with operational leaders to understand costs and improve margins
Oversight of cash flow forecasting, banking arrangements and payment approvals
Management and development of the purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control teams
Leading year-end audit and statutory processes with external auditors and advisers
Responsibility for VAT, corporation tax, payroll liaison and UK statutory filingsCandidate profile:

Proven experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong background in management reporting, budgeting and cash flow control
Experience leading audits and working with external advisers
Confident, collaborative people manager with a coaching mindset
Strong systems skills and advanced Excel capabilitySalary: £50,000 – £60,000
