Robert Half is partnering with a fast-growing, multi-site SME within the construction sector that has experienced significant expansion over the past 18 months and is continuing on a strong growth trajectory.As part of this evolution, the business is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to provide immediate leadership and support to the finance function during a period of transition and scale.This is a high impact, hands on role, ideal for someone who enjoys operating across both strategic and operational finance.Based in Kendal, onite 4 days a week, 1 day WFH. The Role:Reporting directly to the Managing Director, with a dotted line into a wider group finance function, you will:Take ownership of the day to day finance functionProvide leadership and support to an established Finance Manager and small teamOversee monthly management accounts, reporting, and forecastingEnsure accuracy and robustness of financial reporting for senior stakeholdersReview and enhance budgeting and financial planning processesDeliver meaningful commercial insight to support business decision-makingMaintain and improve financial controls, processes, and systemsOversee payroll and transnational finance where requiredThis role will suit someone comfortable getting into the detail, while also operating at a senior, strategic level.Essential:Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership roleStrong technical and reporting expertiseExperience managing and developing finance teamsComfortable in a hands on, SME environmentPersonal Attributes:Proactive, driven, and adaptableCommercially minded with strong analytical capabilityConfident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholdersComfortable working in a growing and evolving businessRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
