Job Description
Job Title: Financial Accountant - Hybrid - interim \n\nLocation: Birmingham City Centre\n\nRole Overview\n\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to support key financial processes, including month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and audit preparation. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, the ability to work independently, and a methodical approach in a fast-paced environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPrepare and post month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments\nPerform balance sheet reconciliations, including maintenance of intercompany accounts\nSupport the maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed asset register\nAssist with year-end audit processes, including preparation of supporting documentation\nProduce clear and concise handover and process documentation to support transition into BAU (Business as Usual) operations\nAnalyse costs and revenue as part of the month-end close process\nEnsure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data\n\nPerson Specification\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\n\nProven experience in month-end close, including preparation and analysis of costs and revenue\nStrong understanding of financial accounting principles\nExperience with balance sheet reconciliations\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision\nCalm and effective under pressure, particularly in a high-volume transactional environment\nStrong organisational skills with a methodical and detail-oriented approach\n\nDesirable Skills & Experience\n\nExperience with fixed assets accounting\nKnowledge of VAT\n\nAt Gleeson Recruitment Group, we embrace inclusivity and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities.
