Were supporting a long-established distribution business near Harrogate to recruit a Finance Manager, following the planned retirement of their long-standing incumbent.

The business has been trading successfully for 15 years, supplying products into manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors across the UK. It operates as a lean, profitable trading company, with a strong reputation in its niche and a loyal customer and supplier base.

Youll take full ownership of the finance function, overseeing day-to-day operations through to month and year-end. This is a hands-on position, working closely with the MD. Key responsibilities: Month-end and year-end reporting Managing cashflow and forecasting Ownership of the general ledger (Sage 50) Maintaining financial controls Liaising with external accountants Some HR admin and liaison Overseeing payroll (currently outsourced, with the option to bring in-house) Supporting the MD on ad hoc finance and commercial queries Who this would suit Ideal for someone experienced and self-sufficient, with a good grounding in SME finance.
